Dancing

Sierra LOVES to dance and wears her tu-tu nearly everyday. I don't have a video camera, just the one on my camera so the quality is poor but here is my cutie.

News Update

We are enjoying our first real winter since we've been married (7 years). It's snowed off and on all week and has been pretty cold. I love looking out at the white landscape and hunkering down with some hot chocolate. Perhaps because we haven't endured many winters I am loving this one.

News on the job front: Craig had a great interview for a job here in Reno last week and he is flying to Texas and Mississippi next week for interviews there. We are hopeful that one of the three will work out.

News on the family front: My mother-in-law had surgery last week and has been recuperating at home. She's pretty much on bed rest so Sierra always has someone to snuggle with and watch movies. Renae came to Arizona after Gideon was born and helped out so it's nice to return that favor. Though I must say taking care of our 800 square foot apartment pales in comparison to their 5000+ square foot house.

My dad had hip replacement surgery this week and is now home from the hospital. I am grateful that we are close by to help out with his recovery which will be quite extensive.

News on the children front: Sierra and Gideon are pretty much on the same nap schedule and they go to bed at the same time- yeah!! It's amazing what I can get done with a couple of hours without a child in my arms or on my leg. We finally figured out that Gideon's cradle cap was actually eczema. Once we began the right treatment it cleared right up. He is a much happier baby now without that itchy sore head.

We are doing our Family Home Evening activity today and going swimming. Sierra asks to go swimming all the time and the bathtub just doesn't cut it. I'm looking forward to being back in the pool again as well.

Blessed Baby Boy

Last Sunday our little boy was blessed in church. Craig was the one who gave him the blessing surrounded by our fathers and brothers. It was an awesome experience to see the wonderful men in my family participate. For those of you reading this who are not Latter-day-Saints, we typically give infants a blessing soon after they are born. It's not like a traditional Catholic baptism (you have to be at least 8 years old to get baptized) but more of an individual blessing for them. Gideon received a beautiful blessing that was humbling to hear. As his mother I feel a greater responsibility to teach him correct principles and to help him learn the things that will get him through this stormy life. Speaking of storms we've had some amazing storms here in Sparks the last few days. It's been amazing to see so much snow piled everywhere. Yesterday we used some 4-wheelers to pull sleds around the property here. It was so much fun! It seems that the last two weeks have been full of fun times with the holidays and my brothers wedding. All the visiting family have returned home and it is awfully quiet around here. I guess it's time to get back in a routine- boring but probably good for us at this point.

Happy Holidays!

We had a wonderful Christmas which we celebrated in Utah with my grandma, one of my sisters and her three children and my parents. It was a little hairy getting to Utah with all the snowy weather but we enjoyed a very white Christmas. We joked that the last white christmas we've had in a long while was when we were in Houston a few years ago when it snowed on Christmas Eve (about 8 snowflakes). Santa Baby

I made a tu-tu for Sierra and got her pink sparkly dancing shoes. She wears the dancing shoes constantly which is fine because she is always dancing.

Merry Christmas!
